2011 Annual GHOST RAIL TRAIL? Overnighter?

If we put this together I will promise to get new Utah Cruisers's stickers made and some sort of trail run decal. (I just made a new contact that can do some sticker work on the cheap)

John and I broached the subject on Saturday when we were out at the Jetty. If we did a one night camping thing it wouldn't feel so rushed.
Who's interested? We could even go the opposite way around as last year. (I miss it every year).

I'll make dutch oven food too.

If you are cooking, then I am going! I have a 4 man tent and plenty of sleeping bags. Prob be a guy's trip--Leesa is definitely NOT big on camping without a Holiday Inn placed around her....

I'm good anytime unless it is a certain 4 to 5 days in July.....

Depending on the date I would like to join in. I have a tent/sleeping bag for an overnighter. What is the route? I'm open for June/July date...if I'm not out at Miller of course.

I'm good for any Sat-Sun. I might also be able to take 1/2 a Friday if that is how it has to go down.

Our baby is due in Aug so the closer it gets the less camping (or summit ) I can do

I like the Sat/Sun idea but can try to swing Fri/Sat if the majority swings that way. How about June 11/12th? I've got a benefit golf tournament that I play camera man for the last week of June.

I was also thinking if you're serious about being the "Cooky" of our caravan that the least we could do is chip in and or go potluck.

My wife just reminded me I have a company party on June 25th so that weekend is out for me too.
June 11 & 12 or 18 & 19 or 4 & 5 should all work for me.


and, heads up on the dutch oven deal....

I just picked them up and have done VERY little actual cooking. We may bring some back up food just in case

I've got a few ovens, a camp kitchen, all the dutch oven tools, and about 20 dutch oven cook books from my mother-in-law on Sunday.
I think next time I stop by her house I'll be picking up a double burner camp chef stove and a few other odds and ends she keeps setting aside for me as she cleans house.

What is the official name of the trail?
I'm thinking about promoting this on a few boards (Blue Room, SoCal, AZ, Brown Room, IH8MUD, Wasatch Cruisers, etc...). Any objections?

I'm down for any of the dates you mentioned. Sounds like this is gonna be a great time!

I'm really interested in trying to make this run...if you'll have a new guy along I've never driven anywhere near the lake in the nearly 10 years I've lived here. The 11th & 12th would be best as the 18th is my anniversary (#12)...not sure if my wife had other ideas

I wouldn't mind a long day trip again though as some of us (me lol) have a one year old and have to find babysitting. I'll see what I can find. If we do an overnight I can bring a couple of large telescopes for the endless sky out there at night.

One thing to think about, don't know if it matters to anyone but I believe Cruiser Fest is on June 11th. Those are the days you are looking at right?

Sorry guys got my dates mixed up. That's the date for We Rock not Cruiser Fest.

Let us know what you figure out. We discussed it as a 2-day so people had time to dink around a little more and didn't feel stressed to get back before nightfall. Plus camping!? Winning!

We've brought gas every year and never used it, not that we won't again. I have to get a better container and my roof rack back on before then. It's 180 miles offroad. You can fill up at the exit near Bonneville and again in Brigham City. As a one day trip it is long but we have always made it home by 8:00pm with a 6:30 am start towards the Salt Flats. We don't get much time for sightseeing that way and there were a couple of sites we've spotted from google maps satalite that we'd like to check out.
