So. Utah Solar Eclipse Excursion [ So U See ]

So would anybody be interested in heading south to check out the 2012 solar eclipse ???

When: May 18-21, 2012
Where: near Pioche, Nevada
Why: Because

May 20,2012 Utah falls directly in the path of the solar eclipse. Although some of the major parks have events planned around the eclipse I was thinking this would be a great excuse to head into a less populated area. The family and I are heading down with a couple of friends and contemplating camping around and checking out Cathedral Gorge State Park, if there's enough interest we can reserve a Group spot in the park. There are a few old mining town ruins in the area so we'll probably go looking for them as well. I was thinking of heading down Friday(May 18) or Saturday and then head back Monday(May 21). The 20th is the important date and the rest are just bookends, so I'm flexible on dates.

Would love to go I was thinking about the eclipse today and what to do about it. Will see but May is busy for me. Thanks Tain

Departure Date: Sat, May 19th in the AM
Return Date: Mon, May 22nd
Camp: Cathedral Gorge State Park

I haven't given up on this trip yet. I would also leave on Saturday so still may be able to meet up. Would I need reservations at camp ground? Or is it first come first served? Son in law may come too he has a Hummer3, but i would have to wait for him to catch up! HaHa. Will get back with you next week I have to go to WV for week Thanks Tain
