Hey everyone, just wanted to mention we (myself, wife & 2.5yr old) have decided to make a last minute trip down to the Moab area tomorrow, Friday 5/13. We are planning on camping in, and exploring, the Needles District of Canyonlands. Returning on Sunday evening.

I just put a set of 285/75/16 BFG Mud Terrain KM2's on the FJ and could not wait to try them out on some red dirt. cheers

If any of you are going to be in that area or want to skip town for some exploration feel free to call me or send a text message....435.901.3230

I'll post pics when I get back.

If my truck wasn't in the shop I would be there. Have fun! You should do Elephant hill. Great trail, that's fun but not too hairy at all. Great views too.

A little late notice for me, I have to plan these things way more in advance.

Sounds fun. We'd join you but we're in AZ this weekend.

I'd love to join you, but I got way to much going on. It's funny though because I was scheming earlier today about how I could skip town this weekend and head to Moab.

Have a great time and post lots of pics!

Well....you guys got my # if anything changes. Sorry for the late notice...I usually have to plan a few weeks or month out to get out too. Somehow all the pieces fell into place with doggy care and not having to deal with any clients this weekend.

Packing now C-YA Exclamation

So much for the Needles District Mad We didn't make it out of Park City until 12:30 on Friday, so driving down we called "Needles" and they told us that all camp sites had filled by 10 am, they also indicated that the BLM sites were likely full too. Being that it's an additional 75 miles past Moab....didn't want to back track if we couldn't find camping.

Moab was an absolute zoo......over 200 side-by-side atv's on Kane Creek for a rally, with a police escort no less. First we checked Sand Flats...full....then Kane Creek Rd....full....then everything going down the river ...all the way to Fisher Towers...FULL... So on we went to Dewey Bridge and Entrada Bluffs Road. Guess what....all campsites full....even that one site way back where the private property starts. Until we started exploring all the side roads off Entrada Bluffs Rd and found one as the sun was dipping at 8PM! Shocked Given that we'd gotten to town at 4:30...I'd almost given up hope. It actually turned out to be a great site that we stayed at for the whole weekend.

We were only 1 Mile from Top of the World....and true to my forum avatar....we ran it. My wife had only been up it once with our old Jeep...I've done it once in the FJ...this 3rd time was AWESOME with the new tires. I love that trail. I had hoped to shoot some photos on the trail, but somehow all of the bumping on the ledges put our son to sleep and I just kept going. A gnarly storm had brewed over LaSal Mtn by the time we got to the top....shot a few HDR storm pics while we took in the view.

Here's a few pics for ya...

Nice photos! I've never done top of the world. How was it? Looks like you guys had a great time despite the difficulties finding a camping spot.

Oh yea, there is a great camping spot off of hwy 313. Just make sure you are in bed before 10 PM...
