| I recently purchased my second FJC (Army Green) after putting an ungodly amount of miles on my 2008 FJC (Black Diamond).
I would consider myself virtually inexperienced to any serious off-roading. I'd be interested in doing some casual runs with people in that area who don't mind an inexperienced tag-a-long.
On that same subject, where are some close legal trails? I live in Orem.
Per the username, I love firearms. |

Per the username, I love firearms. Welcome! Some relatively close, mellow trails would be the Pony Express trail or the transcontinental railroad. Both of those are maintained dirt roads. Once the snow melts there is skyline drive and Farmington Flats. Skyline Drive is an easy dirt road, but Farmington Flats is kind of tight with the bushes and all. There is also American Fork Canyon, but I haven't tried that one yet. A couple of us were planning a trip to Moab in May. There was no mention of trails yet, but you are certainly invited. My FJC was my first 4 wheel drive vehicle. I took it to Moab a couple of years ago and now I can't get enough of the place! I ran alot of trails even with the stock tires!

| I had an old FJ40 in high school but I never really took it off road. So I would be in the same boat as gun slut as a novice. But slowly I have been testing my fj out in the desert and now I can't stop thinking about it.
Gun Slut we should hit the hills one day and go shooting. I am going out this next weekend to the west desert to shoot and 4 wheel.

| I try to hit the trails as often as possible, but I consider myself a newb. Can you make the wrench-a-thon this Friday in south Jordan? It's at Greg's (Skibumm) house. | |

| I work seven days a week so it's sometimes difficult to get out. What time is the Friday meet-up? |

| Welcome GunSlut,
As Big-Ern mentioned, a few of us are trying to get to Moab in May and would love to have you along. The more the merrier. I would consider myself a novice at this as well but looking forward to challenging myself a bit at Moab. (not too much though).
Hope to meet you soon.

I've been doing it for four years now. At least I'm not working full-time at both jobs (graves and days) anymore. I don't pick up contract work anymore though, it meant not sleeping at all and I now have most of the guns I wanted. |

| Found a photo on my laptop of my 1977 FJ55 Land Cruiser with my 2008 FJ Cruiser. Change that black to a green and that's about current.

| I don't think I've taken many photos of my 2010 FJ, it's difficult to tell it's even green in this photo.

| The FJ55 needs some work, most likely an engine rebuild and it's been needing it for some time. I'd have done it by now if I had space nearby to work on it. I'm not in a living situation right now that includes a garage or a driveway that I can work on a vehicle.
It's killing me. |

| I've got a great college story about an FJ55...... maybe I'll tell it at the Wrenchathon.
Welcome to the madness, GS!

| I was recently thinking, I'm from a large family and in that family we've had more cars than most regular folk should. Even today my father has probably ten cars at his place. What I find interesting is that we've all independently moved to Toyota. In my immediate family:
4Runner 1990's 4Runner 2007 FJ Cruiser Highlander Land Cruiser FJ55 Land Cruiser FJ60 Land Cruiser 200 Sienna Sequoia
In the past there have been FJ40 Land Cruisers and Pickups, so I'm no stranger to working on Toyotas. |

| Rather than rebuilding my FJ55 Land Cruiser motor I've purchased a good low mileage 2F motor. All FJC mods are on hold until winter while I get the TLC purring and legal.
Don't count me out of future wrench-a-thons though! |

| Bring the pig to the wrench night. No problem there. (Unless it doesn't start in which case maybe you could host the next one...) | |

| Just saw this a year late. I'm in Orem. If you need garage space to work sometime let me know. As long as we can get it out by night so my wife can park there it's a-ok to work in there. I've got a compressor and quite a few tools as well and enjoy working on Toyotas. | |

| I appreciate that. I still have a lot to do on it but I paused working on it to spend money on travel for a bit. I'll be getting back on it this summer. I had a lot of plans for my 2010 FJC but the 1977 FJ55 will be the moneypit instead. |

| We've now got a free spot overnight as well as I started parking outside for the summer since I leave for work early and don't want the opener waking up the kids. My wife teaches and sleeps in during the summers. We're moving to Lehi within the next 2 months if we can get this stupid house to close (it's in a distressed state right now... so the paperwork mess is crazy) but part of the deal was that I got my very own FJ working spot and another one to park in. So we've got a three garage house on the horizon and I'll have a place to organize all of my powertools and work on projects for a long period of time. If that is somebody elses' project then that's great too. I will enjoy having that space to set up a wrench-a-thon and go three wide during the winters installing stuff if anybody needs to. I'm serious about that. It's therapeutic! | |
