Hi, I'm bl00k and about to own a 2012 TT FJ

Hey, I found out about this forum from the fjcruiserforums.com. If it is ok I am just going to recycle my intro from there.

Hi, I am finally getting my FJ, a 2012 Trail Teams with manual transmission. It will be here around the end of March.

A little bit about me;

I have wanted an FJ since I saw the concept vehicle photos way way back in 2003 or 2004. I just fell in love with the look of that beast.


Life and finances have kept me from actually owning an FJ all this time, but my want has never gone away after all these years.

I currently drive a 1998 Chevy (not Geo) Tracker 2D 4x4. I'll not stand for any bad mouthing of the Tracker!


I love that little thing. My wife is the only one who can get away with making fun of it (she calls it a Barbie Jeep) but she will tell anyone that it is a Champion in the snow. It has 146,000 miles on it and has been giving me some scares lately. I had to spend some money last summer to have the emissions controls stuff fixed so it would pass inspection. I am not a gear head guy or know how to do much of anything mechanical. I'm a computer nerd and work in IT. So I've just been hoping that the Tracker would last long enough for me to be in a position to get an FJ. My patience finally paid off, my wife has been a stay at home mom the last 5 years but went back to work recently and she gave me the go ahead to get an FJ. Just in time to get the new Raidiant Red. She isn't a big fan of the red, but I think it looks sharp and Red is the color of my Tracker so it will feel like home.

Hope this wasn't too long of an intro. I'm really looking forward to getting my FJ and glad I found a good community online for them.

quick question; I keep seeing people mention a "Blue Room" is that another FJ Forum?

Welcome to the forum! I doubt anyone here would hate on the Tracker. I've seen some really cool built up Sami's driving around the Salt lake valley and up American Fork Canyon.

The blue room is another name for the fjcruiserforums site, cause its blue...

Be sure to post up picks once you get your new FJ and I hope to see you on a trail in the near future!

Welcome! Post some pics when the new FJ comes in. Would love to have you along for a trail ride to break in the new rig.

Where are you ordering your TT from? Which dealer? I saw one on a transport outside of Layton about two weeks ago--I thought it might be going to Tony Divino in Ogden!

Mark Miller between 7th and 8th South and West Temple. I know there is one coming in any day now that is an automatic which is not mine. They told me mine would be in at the end of March. I did tell them to call me when that AT comes in so I can check out the interior and marvel at the awesomeness of the red.

Yours is gonna be the 6MT then?

Yes, I really wanted the 6MT and originally they told me all the TT are AT but I asked them to check and they came back and said there will be 12 made with a 6MT. The only one in existence was in Des Moines Iowa at the time, they told me probably a special order. So I put down my $500 and told them to make my dreams come true. They called back a few days later and said they were able to secure a 6MT and it would be here the end of March.

Sweet! I prefer a manual transmission over an automatic, even though it's a little more challenging in some off road situations.
