We will run out to the 5-Mile Pass recreation area and run Rattlesnake and then up too the old Jeep down the mine shaft. If the weather/trail are decent we might explore a little further in.
This is a join run with members from Toyota-4runner.org, Wastach Cruisers, UT-TTORA and who ever is on Utah chapter of Yotatech
Run is depending on the weather.

| According to the all knowing "google" its supposed to be Cloudy with a high of 17. On a side note, does anyone have the GPS cords for the trailhead? | |

| So who is all going from this forum? Im 95% sure that Ill be there. The other 5% is if by chance my newborn has a doctors visit that day for his cold.
Oh ya! also my Fj has some upgrades but I don't have sliders or upgraded skids. has anyone been on this trail? Should I be worried about not having skids and rails for this trail?

| I haven't done this trail. However, i've been reading on utah4x4 who does this trail at this time every year. From what I understand it can get very slippery. Stock jeeps/fjs/trucks can do this with careful spotting. The snow just adds a level of difficulty. I'll be there and have recovery gear, in the even we need it. I'd recommed some tow straps (without hooks), AT and some shakles at min. http://www.utah4x4club.com/index.php?showtopic=13154 | |

| I have a great set of MT tires and some recovery tools. I'm more afraid of hurting the bottom of my FJ, anymore info on the trail woulds be great. | |

You FJ should be okay. Last year we got a stock 3rd gen 4runner though it, he only got some minor damage on his running boards. The stock skids should be okay.

| Sorry, everyone I'm going to pull the plug on the run due to weather. If anyone is still interested in going out there a group from Rocky Mountain Extreme will be heading out there on Saturday http://www.rme4x4.com/showthread.php?p=735987#post735987I'd rather be safe than sorry. I'll reschedule the run for another time. | |

| Well.. no one came out. However, I met up with some other jeeps that were on there way there. First time out there, and it was a blast. Nothing like making first tracks in the ice errr powder. Spent a few hours, no big issues. A few of the trails have some over grown trees that can be problematic. The first hill was cake walk in the FJ. There were a few places most would want to Bypass, It because very slick with the ice, but no real issues. This can be done without sliders or Armor if you use maybe two of the bypasses. I'll Be out there tomorrow as well! Hope to see some of you! | |

I'm sorry to hear that Brad. I know her health hasn't been ideal the last little while. If I can do anything to help let me know. I'm bummed I didn't make the run. I slid/drove off I-15 Thursday morning to avoid a pile up. Nobody was stopping in time and I was about to take out a poor little geo metro. So I pointed it to the side and let off the brakes. I hit one of the road side markers with my bumper which pushed it out to the side and broke my driver's side mirror in half. Bob has one I just need to go pick up and install. My wife was already a little leery about letting me go in the snow and the $145 tow truck bill ended it for me. Looks like you had a lot of fun.
