| Wow, So this was my first time down in that area. It was pretty awesome. Friday day was perfect weather. I did Milts Mile. FJ was flawless. Friday night was when the damage started....haha We started doing westrim trail....which in its self is about a 4.. The optional obsticles are 7+. Still a lot of fun. Some of the place were way tight. Saturday was wet....verrrrry wet. I ended up doing Sliplock gultch... (Water falls....that had plenty of water haha..) This is were things went south... SO.... Broke the Driverside Axle.... not at the CV but it snpped inside the diff. Pasenger fender smashed Scratches.. Bumper destroyed... exghuast smashed... and thats about it An expensive weekend.....But fun. Time to go to a SAS.....time to get out the visa. | |

Are you serious about the SAS? Well I was serious... I called Jason @ Dmello and John at Allpro.... its expensive....veryyyyyyy expensive. To do the Allpro kit... front and rear axles with coilovers etc.... we're talking ohhhh $20,000 in parts + $5,000 in labor.. So i'm seeing if Jason has any other ideas.... other wise for $25K I'll buy/build a rock buggy. I don't know yet.... If i could do the whole thing for 15K then it would be worth it... but another 10K...ugh.. Ideas?? The problem is I really like rock crawling...and the IFS is the weak point. I'll just keep breaking stuff if I don't come up with a solution...

| Seriously for $25 large just buy another FJ and move your aftermarket parts over. | |

| IFS does have its limitations. A trail buggy of some sort is what you need. Sorry to hear about the damage, but at least you got war stories to tell. | |

Even if I replace the weak axles with chromoly heavy duty ones, then my point of failure is going to be that Front diff.. which is 10X more expensive then replacing the broken front axles. I'm just going to look for a rock specific buggy. So if you see any good deals let me know . MY Fj is still a great trail rig, just not a rock crawler.
